I have used Kahle pattern hooks for over 35 years in my guiding career and have yet to find a better hook pattern for live baiting. Circle hooks require far more finesse on hook up wheras the Kahle pattern is more forgiving if you strike at the fish. Only a slow lift of the rod is required to set the hook. I love this pattern so much and was having difficulty sourcing them, so we decided to make our own.
