With no fish left in the freezer, we set Ryan a Golden Snapper fishing challenge!
He was pretty confident, claiming he could get one in twenty minutes.
At the time we were anchored up in one of our favourite places, Lookout Point.
The silica white sands of Cape Flattery make it one of the most beautiful beaches in the world!
So while Karen walked the dogs, Max and Ryan set about making good on the Fishing Challenge!
It didn’t take him long to find a good spot and they were both soon hooked up.
But would it be Golden Snapper on the menu – or just a ton of arm stretching trevally?
Join us on our Golden Snapper Fishing Challenge as we catch (and cook) the result.
FINDING GOLDEN SNAPPER IN NORTHERN AREAS
We LOVE eating Golden Snapper and if you do do too, here are a couple of tips to get you on the money.
Identifying them on your sounder is a big one.
We have created a freely downloadable Fingermark (Golden Snapper) cheat sheet of sounder shots to know what you’re looking for. It also includes other foraging species like Pink Snapper and Pearl Perch if you’re from the colder waters.
Click here and grab a copy of the cheat sheet – also includes some “quick tips” which you’ll love.
And before you head off on a fishing challenge of your own, our $20 sounder course Sounder Skills 1 is a good option.
