Exhausted after fixing the boat bad luck

Boat bad luck be gone as we head north!

Desperate times call for desperate measures as we try and get rid of our boat bad luck!

Karen does a smoking ceremony and buys a (hopefully) lucky water opal amulette to ward off evil spirits.

The boat back luck was not just the split water tank.

Going back to our last northern adventure to Princess Charlotte Bay, the blue boat got water in the fuel and had to have all her injectors replaced.

We didn’t know it at the time, but turns out the fenders between the big boat and blue boat twisted the air intake shells around so they became a water scoop!

It was just seriously boat bad luck and all the injectors needed to be replaced.

So Karen looked up some ancient sage smudging rituals and did both boats.

The good luck happened immediately as our new shirt shipment arrived.

So we were able to take our new shirts with us on the northern trip.

You can check out our new fishing shirt range >> here.

With the boat bad luck behind us – hopefully – we fuelled up, cast off the ropes and headed off on our Northern Safari.

We have more info on the split water tank repair and boat bad luck in our previous blog.

Putting diesel in the big boat

Boat deckie Max
With the boat bad luck delaying the trip south with Evatt for over a month, he was forced to go home and back to work. So Maxxie came instead. Max is one of our original Barra Basics students and over the years we have become good friends with him and his family. The initial plan was the two would swap at Rocky. But we didn’t get that far. Hence Max headed up to us instead.
Drinking rum on a boat
Boat bad luck behind us, Ryan hits the rum as we head north.
Lucky opal amulette
After the smoking ceremony and the purchase of a locally hand crafted lucky opal necklace, we are confident our boat bad luck is behind us!
